Well, you may say that there are too many different things together to make you as you. As your personal identity makes you uniquely you, your brand\u2019s brand identity is something makes the brand uniquely that brand and set your company apart from any other A, B, C in a crowded space. And now comes to brand identity design, that\u2019s something which shapes your company.<\/p>\n<p>But what the heck is a brand identity? What does it have to do with business and design? And how can I shape a strong brand identity that makes people love my brand and take my business to the next level? Wait have a deep breath, and we are going to uncover them all together.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"What_is_Brand_identity\" class=\"ez-toc-section\"><\/span><b>What is Brand identity?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>The best place to start anything is from the very beginning, so let\u2019s dig deep into what exactly brand identity is. The terms <strong>\u201cbrand,\u201d<\/strong> <strong>\u201cbranding,\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cbrand identity\u201d<\/strong> are sometimes treated as interchangeable, but those are not the same.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A brand is what your customers think about you, and it\u2019s the perception of a company in the eyes of the world. <a class=\"aalmanual\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/wemotif.com\/what-we-do\/\">Branding<\/a> is the strategy that actively shapes a distinctive brand and often involves marketing campaigns. And Brand Identity is the collection of all the brand elements of a company creates to distinguish the brand in the consumers\u2019 mind. Your company\u2019s brand identity is what makes your company instantly recognizable to your target audience. So what are the elements of a brand? We are going to discuss more than in the next section of this article.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Elements_of_Brand_Identity\" class=\"ez-toc-section\"><\/span><b>Elements of Brand Identity<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>A company\u2019s brand identity and that\u2019s factors drive the message of a brand which includes a company\u2019s mission, vision, value proposition, competitive position on the particular market, which relevant to the value and interests of the target audience. A brand identity describes how all of those foundational elements are communicated through the defined brand identity. Before coming up with a brand identity, you\u2019ve to make a proper branding strategy for the brand, depending on the branding strategy, you will craft the brand identity. Brand identity includes logos, typography, colors, packaging design and messaging style which reinforce the reputation of a brand; we will talk about that in-depth in \u201cElements of Brand Identity.\u201d Brand identity often attracts time new customers to a brand while making existing customers feel closer to your brand. The most commonly agreed upon elements of a brand identity include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brand Name<\/li>\n<li>A tagline of the brand<\/li>\n<li>Colors Scheme and Visual Style<\/li>\n<li>Design Language<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>A Brand Voice and tone<\/li>\n<li>Design style and typeface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these elements could be grouped differently, and that\u2019s solely dependent on the team and brand. Such as how they want to create an impact on the market, how they want to develop their brand, and there are too many different factors. A Brand should invest in a brand management system which will help them stay consistent and lead them to succeed in today\u2019s speedy market.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Is_Brand_Identity_Important\" class=\"ez-toc-section\"><\/span><b>Is Brand Identity Important?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>As I described above that your brand identity portrait your brand in the consumer\u2019s eyes, successful brand identity will translate your brand to have a positive brand image. Strong brand identities are easily recognizable \u2013 and that immediately convey the message of that brand. Big companies like Nike, Adidas, Apple invest a significant amount of money on their branding efforts cause they know that it has an impact on their sales.<\/p>\n<p>But wait, Ash!! I am not running a company like Adidas or Apple, so why I should care about it? Well, bud, I hear you cry!! Why is someone will spend thousands of dollars more for a Lamborgini while he can take a Toyota? They are a similar product except for some additional features and accessories.<\/p>\n<p>You can make the same argument with Apple products, many of their competitors\u2019 products are a step ahead of them, (well, sometimes its the same), but their iconic brand is often enough to attract their customers for life. Have a look at the cheat sheet of colors\u2019 meaning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Red<\/b> \u2014 passion, importance, attention<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Orange<\/b> \u2014 playfulness, friendly, vitality<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Yellow<\/b> \u2014 happiness, optimism, warning<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Green<\/b> \u2014 nature, stability, prosperity (growth)<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Light Blue<\/b> \u2014 tranquility, trust, openness<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Dark Blue<\/b> \u2014 professionalism, security, formality<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Purple<\/b> \u2014 royalty, creativity, luxury<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Pink<\/b> \u2014 femininity, youth, innocence<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Brown<\/b> \u2014 rugged, earthy, old-fashioned<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>White<\/b> \u2014 clean, virtuous, healthy<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Gray<\/b> \u2014 neutrality, gloom, subdued<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><b>Black<\/b> \u2014 powerful, sophisticated, edgy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep in mind that this is a fundamental theory of colors. For example, Yellow shows happiness but using too much Yellow color will make your customers anxious. Though that is not enough, now you\u2019ve to select a second and third color and combine them in the way you want.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that every color of your brand color scheme should communicate the message you want. There is no right way to choose these colors, and it\u2019s not wise to strict with a method of selecting a brand color scheme. That being said, the process of choosing a brand color would be daunting and hard sometimes. How your brand colors combine will come up again and again in different aspects of your business, your brand color scheme determines the look and feel of your business, website, eCommerce store design and on advertisements. So choose them very carefully. A Brand Identity Guideline should include RGB and CMYK color codes so that your colors stay consistent between the digital and print version.<\/p>\n<p><b>Typography: <\/b>A brand guideline also includes typeface, font families, font sizes guideline, and the hierarchy of the used fonts for your brand.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Logo Design:<\/b> Though your brand is not only with your logo, it\u2019s an essential element of your brand identity.
